Ascan Woermann

Ascan Woermann (* 19th or 20th century ; † 20th century) was a German - South West African merchant . He comes from the Hamburg trading and shipping company family Woermann and is historically associated with the C. Woermann company and the Woermann line .

Woermann emigrated with his wife and four children Eduard, Jens, Joachim and Martha in 1938 from Hamburg to Walvis Bay in South West Africa . He got there with Pretoria , the family's German East-Africa Line . He worked in what is now Namibia in a leading position for the family company Woermann & Brock .

The merchant ship Ascan Woermann was named after him.
