Ashleigh Connor (born September 3, 1989 in Campbelltown City , New South Wales , † July 20, 2011 in Cataract , New South Wales) was an Australian soccer player .

life and career

Connor was born in Campbelltown City, New South Wales and raised in Rosemeadow , NSW. She began her career in the youth of Uniting Church and Campbelltown City SC. This was followed by a detour to the NSW Institute of Sport during her studies .

Connor joined the Illawarra Stingrays in 2008 in the NSW Women's Premier League, with whom she won the championship twice in the following years. She also played nine games for the Central Coast Mariners in the W-League in the 2009/10 season .

She represented her home country at the 2007 Women's U-19 Asian Cup when qualifying for the 2008 Women's U-20 World Cup was missed.

Connor had a fatal accident in her car on the Appin Road in Cataract between Wollongong and Campbelltown on July 20, 2011 .
