Asia Pacific Airlines is a Papua New Guinea airline based in Tabubil and based at Tabubil Airport . It is a subsidiary of the Australian Cobham Aviation Services .
history
Asia Pacific Airlines was founded in 1991 as a subsidiary of the Australian National Jet Systems (now Cobham). In September 1993, the company put its first aircraft into service with a rented De Havilland DHC-8-100 , which was initially operated in wet lease for the airline MBA , which is also based in Papua New Guinea . After the leasing contracts ended, Asia Pacific Airlines changed its name to Fublian Air Transport in 1996 and started its own flight services. A second DHC-8-100 expanded the fleet in October 2000. In the same year the company took on the name Asia Pacific Airlines again . In April 2014, 42 people were working for Asia Pacific Airlines.
Destinations
Asia Pacific Airlines mainly operates domestic flights. The only international destination is Cairns Airport in Australia .
