The 5th Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games took place from September 16 to September 27, 2017 in the Turkmen capital Ashgabat .

There were a total of 15 venues.

Competitions

A total of 348 gold medals were awarded in 21 sports.

Participating Nations

All 45 member states of the OCA (Olympic Council of Asia) were invited to take part in these games and all of them sent at least one athlete. For the first time, the 17 members of the Oceania National Olympic Committee were invited and all took part in the games. In addition, athletes from the New Caledonia archipelago, which belongs to France, also took part.
