2010 Asian Games / Cricket
A cricket competition was held at the 2010 Asian Games in the Chinese metropolis of Guangzhou .
Cricket was part of the Asian Games for the first time in 2010. The tournament with nine national teams took place from November 21st to 26th. The games were played in Twenty20 format.
Due to international game series, the national teams of Bangladesh , Pakistan and Sri Lanka only participated with second-rate teams, while India did not even take part. Still, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan were automatically qualified for the quarter-finals.
