The Roentgen -Gymnasium Remscheid (RöGy) is a mathematical, scientific and modern-language high school in the Lennep district of Remscheid . The school is named after the German physicist and Nobel Prize winner Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen .
Inspired by the work of the namesake, the Röntgen Gymnasium attaches great importance to education in natural science subjects and has had its own student research center, the RöLab, since 2011. The focus here is on the areas of medical physics, material testing, energy and sustainability. The RöLab is supported by the Bergische Universität Wuppertal and the German Röntgen Museum . The Röntgen Gymnasium has been a member of the Association of Mathematical and Scientific Excellence Centers at Schools since January 2012 .

Language concept
The Röntgen Gymnasium offers five foreign languages: English, Spanish, French, Latin and Chinese. English is taught continuously from the fifth grade through to the upper level. From the sixth grade onwards, students choose a second foreign language between French and Latin. From the eighth grade onwards, there is the option of choosing a third foreign language between Spanish and French. It is also possible to choose English bilingually with the subject history in English. With the entry into the upper level, you can choose between Spanish and Chinese as a new foreign language.

There are exchange programs with the partner schools Collège Saint Geneviève in Asnières near Paris (France), IES Madrid Sur (Spain) and Wenling No. 2 Middle School near Shanghai (China).
