Jürgen Pleuser

Jürgen Pleuser (born February 12, 1954 ) is a German architect living in Berlin .

Life

Jürgen Pleuser grew up in Lennep . After graduating from the local X-ray high school he began in 1974 to study architecture in at the Technical University of Berlin . In 1982 he passed the main diploma examination with Peter Haupt. From 1982 to 1992 he worked as a freelancer in various German architecture firms. From 1984 to 1992 he was project architect at the Kunstmuseum Bonn . In 1991 he founded his own office.

Act

Jürgen Pleuser became known through the interior of the German Cathedral on Berlin's Gendarmenmarkt , where he encountered a concrete - shell staged from GDR times for museum use. His latest work is the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety in Berlin, an ensemble of the monument of the former Prussian Ministry of Agriculture and additional new buildings. Remnants of the Berlin border fortifications from GDR times are integrated into the ensemble. The project meets the high requirements of the federal government in terms of energy and ecology , the new building is the first federal government ministry building to be a certified passive house.
