Dennis Herrmann

Dennis Herrmann (* 1986 in Remscheid ) is a German actor .

Life

Dennis Herrmann completed his acting training at the Otto Falckenberg School in Munich from September 2006 to August 2010 . During his studies he played at the Wuppertaler Bühnen (2006; as Francisco / Valtemand / Hauptmann in " Hamlet ") and at the Münchner Kammerspiele (2008; as Clarence in " Richard III. " By Shakespeare ).

After completing his acting training, he was then a permanent member of the Bavarian State Theater in the 2010/11 season . There he played the roles of Wolf / Linzmann in “ Liliom ” (2010; director: Florian Boesch ), Diomedes in “ Penthesilea ” (2010; director: Hans-Joachim Ruckhäberle ) and the Rhine Count vom Stein in “ Das Käthchen von Heilbronn ” (2011; Director: Dieter Dorn ). He also appeared in productions by Jan Philipp Gloger and Tina Lanik .

From the 2011/12 season until 2015 he was a permanent member of the ensemble at the Hans Otto Theater in Potsdam . He has continued to appear there as a guest since 2015. He played there u. a. Bonario in “ Volpone ” (2011; directed by Tobias Wellemeyer ), Tybalt in “ Romeo and Juliet ” (2011; directed by Bruno Cathomas ), the title role in “ Don Karlos ” (2012; directed by Markus Dietz), Graf Wetter vom Strahl in “Das Käthchen von Heilbronn” (2012; director: Ingo Berk ), Florizel in “ Ein Wintermärchen ” (2012; director: Tobias Wellemeyer), Hilmar von dem Hamm in the world premiere of the stage version of Eduard von Keyserling's novel “ Wellen ” ( 2013; Director: Barbara Bürk ) and Petrucchio in “ The Taming of the Shrew ” (2013; Director: Andreas Rehschuh ).

Other roles since 2014 have been Carlos in “ Women on the Edge of a Nervous Breakdown ” (2014; director: Stefan Huber), Guy Montag in “ Fahrenheit 451 ” (2014; director: Niklas Ritter), Orsino in “ Was ihr wollt ” (2014; director : Michael Talke ), Jean-Michel in the musical “ La Cage aux Folles ” (2014/15; directed by Ulrich Wiggers ) and Rosencrantz in “Hamlet” (2015; directed by Alexander Nerlich).

Since the 2015/16 season he has been a permanent member of the ensemble at the Schauspielhaus Bochum . There he took over a. the roles of Sir Dennis Galahad / Prince Herbert's father / Black Knight in the musical “Spamalot”, based on motifs from the film “ The Knights of the Coconut ”.

Herrmann was also seen in a few film and television roles. The main focus of his artistic activity, however, is theater work.

In the feature film " Freche Mädchen 2 " (2010) he played the role of photographer Robert. In 2014 he had a leading role in the ZDF crime series “ SOKO Leipzig ”; he played the law student Thorsten Eppler. In October 2015, Herrmann was also seen in a leading role in the ZDF series “ Notruf Hafenkante ”: he played the suspect tutor Marcel “Gecko” Remscheid. In January 2017 he was seen again in a leading role in the ZDF series "SOKO Leipzig"; he played the speech therapist Dr. Martin Klaßen, the head of a sleep laboratory . In the opening episode of the 5th season of the ZDF series " Betty's Diagnosis " (first broadcast: October 2018), he had a leading role in the episode as the partner of a patient who works for an escort agency and hid this. In the 16th season of the ZDF series " SOKO Wismar " (2020), he took on one of the main roles in the episode as the suspect bar owner and young father Sören Kirchner, who had an affair with the murdered employee of the Wismar "Mama shop".

Herrmann also works as a spokesperson for advertising (including for McFit ), audio books , radio plays , documentaries and as a voice over voice.
