Aslanbek Soltanowitsch Bulazew ( Russian Асланбек Солтанович Булацев ; * 1963 in the North Ossetian ASSR , Russian SFSR , Soviet Union ) is a Russian - Ossetian politician ; From October 22, 2008 to August 3, 2009 he was Prime Minister of the Republic of South Ossetia , previously he worked for the Russian federal tax authority in North Ossetia, most recently as its head.

Bulazew successfully completed his studies with a major in accounting at the Financial Academy of North Ossetia, before he worked for the North Ossetian tax investigation department from 1986-2006. 2006–2008 he was President of the Russian Federal Tax Authority for North Ossetia before he was elected Prime Minister in October 2008 by the Parliament of the Republic of South Ossetia to succeed Yuri Morozov, who had resigned in August 2008 . In August 2009, Bulazew was unexpectedly dismissed "for health reasons" by the head of state Eduard Kokoity . At the same time a comprehensive government reshuffle was announced. Observers see the continuing discontent of the impoverished South Ossetian population as the real reason for Bulazev's dismissal.
