Boris Jeliosowitsch Tschotschijew (born November 1, 1957 near Tskhinvali , South Ossetian Autonomous Region ) is a South Ossetian politician.

Boris Tschotschijew graduated from the Biological Faculty of the South Ossetian State Pedagogical Institute in 1982 . From 1980 to 1986 he worked for the Communist Youth Association Komsomol and then until 1991 in the South Ossetian organization of the CPSU .

After the collapse of the Soviet Union , Chochiev worked for the government of the separatist Republic of South Ossetia , which seeks to secede its territory from Georgia . From May 1992 to April 2001 he was chairman of the state committee for nationality and migration issues. From 1993 until the South Ossetia War in 2008, he was involved in international conflict settlement within the framework of the Joint Control Commission .

In April 2001 he was appointed Minister for Special Tasks. From December 31, 2005 to August 18, 2008 he was Deputy Prime Minister of South Ossetia. When President Eduard Kokoity dismissed the previous Prime Minister Yuri Morozov in connection with the South Ossetia War, Chotschiev temporarily became Executive Prime Minister. On October 22, 2008, he handed over the office to the newly elected Prime Minister Aslanbek Bulazew .
