Asobi Asobase ( Japanese あ そ び あ そ ば せ ) is a manga series by Rin Suzukawa that has been released in Japan since 2015. The comedy series revolves around the everyday experiences of three schoolgirls in their game club and was adapted several times as an anime television series in 2018 .

The energetic Hanako Honda can urge her classmates Olivia and Kasumi Nomura to found a games club together. Olivia has American parents and grew up in Japan, but acts towards everyone as if she hardly speaks Japanese and is an exchange student. This will soon be revealed to her new friends. Kasumi is good at games, but actually hates them because as a small child she always lost to her big sister and was annoyed by her for it. Together they spend their free time in the club, playing games of skill or similar simple games with their hands, or thinking about other leisure activities. Your club is not officially recognized, but is tolerated by the student president. In their English teacher, who is desperately looking for a husband after being single for decades, the three friends find a club supervisor.

A pilot chapter was published on May 1, 2015 in Young Animal Arashi magazine (issue 6/2015). The regular series publication then began on June 26, 2015 in the online magazine Young Animal Densi , which was replaced by the Manga Park portal in August 2017 . Since November 25, 2016 (No. 23/2016), the series has also been published in the print magazine Young Animal . The Hakusensha- Verlag published the chapters in nine anthologies so far (as of March 2020).
Anime adaptation
An anime adaptation for Japanese television was created for the manga in 2018 . In the production of Studio lark led Seiji Kishi Director. The main author was Yūko Kakihara . The character design comes from Keiko Kurosawa . The first broadcast ran on AT-X from July 8 to September 23, 2018, as well as on Tokyo MX , KBS Kyōto , BS11 , Sun Television and TV Aichi with an offset of up to three days . An English version was shown by Animax Asia and the online platform Crunchyroll published the anime with German and English subtitles, among other things.
