The Red Astilbe ( Astilbe rubra ) is a plant of the genus Astilbe ( Astilbe ) in the family Saxifragaceae (Saxifragaceae).
features
The red splendor spar is a perennial , herbaceous plant that reaches heights of up to 100 (rarely up to 150) centimeters. The plant forms a rhizome . The leaflets are egg-shaped and measure 4 to 7 × 2 to 4 centimeters. The inflorescence is more or less cylindrical. The branches of the inflorescence are usually short, up to 3 inches long and covered with long brown glandular hairs. The underside of the sepals is hairy on the outside. The petals are linear, red to purple in color and measure 4.5 to 5 × 0.3 to 0.5 millimeters.
The flowering period extends from June to July.
Occurrence
The red splendor spar occurs in India and in southern Xizang and in northwestern Yunnan at forest edges at altitudes of 2400 meters. Deposits in the provinces of Fujian and Hubei are questionable.

The red splendor spar is rarely used as an ornamental plant for groups of trees and perennial beds.
