Astrid Koehler

Astrid Ellen Köhler (born June 30, 1965 in Jena ) is a German Germanist and author .

Astrid Köhler studied German at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena and received her doctorate in 1994 from the Free University of Berlin . From 1993 to 1995 she worked as a DAAD lecturer at the University of Cambridge . Since 1995 lecturer in German studies, since 2018 professor at Queen Mary College of the University of London . Her work focuses on the cultural history of classical Weimar as well as East German prose before and after reunification .
