Astrid Randerath

Astrid Randerath (born April 1, 1965 in Mönchengladbach ) is a German journalist.

Life

Astrid Randerath studied Spanish, German and comparative literature with the minor subjects politics and education at RWTH Aachen University (state examination).

After completing her studies, she completed a radio traineeship and worked as an editor and presenter for various radio and television stations. Radio Rur, Antenne Sachsen Anhalt, WDR . In 1998 she came to ZDF and worked there a. a. as editor for the political magazine Frontal and from 2001 for the follow-up program Frontal21 .

In a survey by the journal Wirtschaftsjournalist among 276 specialist journalists and editors-in-chief, Astrid Randerath and Christian Esser were recognized as the best business journalists of 2009 in the TV / Radio category for the ZDF documentary Das Pharma-Kartell . In the same year they also received the Hanns-Joachim-Friedrichs-Förderpreis for their contribution . The "Black Book Deutsche Bahn" became a Spiegel bestseller title. In 2018 she received the Friedrich and Isabel Vogel Foundation's economic journalists' prize for the Frontal21 contribution "Retouren für den Müll", together with Christian Esser, Birte Meier and colleagues from Wirtschaftswoche. In 2019 she also received the journalism award from Deutsche Umwelthilfe in the television category, also together with Birte Meier and Christian Esser.
