Astrid Rank

Astrid Rank (* 3. July 1969 in Kelheim as Astrid White ) is a German teacher. She is the holder of the chair for elementary school education at the University of Regensburg .

Career

From 1989 to 1993 Rank studied at the University of Regensburg for teaching at primary schools and then taught for seven years at primary schools in the Kelheim area. After additional training in Montessori pedagogy , she completed her doctorate from 2005 to 2007 at the University of Regensburg on the subject of subjective theories of educators on pre-school learning and written language acquisition . At the same time, from 2004 to 2005 she was a lecturer at the chair for primary school education at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt , where she also worked in the research group “Boys in Primary School”. After completing her doctorate, she stayed as an assistant at the University of Regensburg until 2011. In addition, Rank took on a substitute professorship for literacy and multilingualism at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main in the 2009/10 winter semester . From 2011 on, she held the chair for primary school education at the University of Koblenz-Landau . Since 2014 she has held the chair for elementary school education at the University of Regensburg.

Rank is married, has three children and lives with her family in Kelheim.
