Astron is Europe a manufacturer in the steel building for industrial , commercial , industrial or sports and leisure . Around 70 buildings are produced individually every week in the three production facilities in Luxembourg , the Czech Republic and Russia . The group of companies consists of 15 companies and employs around 650 people across Europe.

Astron was taken over in 2005 by the Swedish Lindab Group, which develops and produces steel products and system products for the construction industry, but continues its production and sales of steel buildings unchanged. The Lindab Group had in 2018 a turnover of 890 million euros.

The German headquarters of Astron is located in Mainz , operational headquarters in Luxembourg Diekirch .

Products

Astron designs and manufactures individually plannable buildings, such as warehouses, production buildings, parking garages, offices, sports halls, hotels or supermarkets. The spans vary between ten and one hundred meters, and different building types are possible. Up to eight floors can be realized. The company also offers accessories for modernization and roof renovation of existing buildings without interrupting operations.

All parts of the building are produced according to the QMS standard, certified according to ISO 9001 and regularly checked by Bureau Veritas. The quality of the Astron buildings is marked with the CE seal, all Astron products meet the standards of EN1090-2.

history

1920: Founding of the Astron parent company "Commercial Shearing and Stamping" in the USA

1962: "Commercial Shearing and Stamping" begins importing prefabricated buildings from the USA into the rapidly growing European economy. To this end, a company is founded in Diekirch (Luxembourg), and Astron is born in Europe.

1965: Distribution of the Astron buildings by local construction companies: The idea of ​​the construction partner network is born.

1969: The first semi-automatic production line for the primary structure is installed to increase the capacity to up to 250 buildings per year.

1979: The market for the building system concept and the sales network grow rapidly. 200 construction partners sell 800 bespoke buildings per year.

1988: Use of computer technology for construction, order processing and graphic preparation under the name "Cyprion" - until today a worldwide unique calculation software for Astron building partners.

1993: ISO 9002 TÜV CERT certification as the first steel construction company in Europe. Capacity now: 1,300 buildings per year.

2005: The Swedish Lindab Group takes over the company management.

2019: Astron is present in all European countries and North Africa with 13 own branches and 3 factories, with a capacity of up to 2,000 buildings per year.
