Atães is a place and a former municipality ( freguesia ) in northern Portugal .

Atães Church

Atães is part of the Vila Verde county in the Braga district . The community had an area of ​​2.5 km² and 657 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).

On September 29, 2013, the parishes of Atães, Covas , Penascais , Valões and Codeceda were merged to form the new parish União das Freguesias do Vade . Atães is the seat of this newly formed community.
