The Atanasoff Nunatak ( Bulgarian Атанасов нунатак Atanasow nunatak ) is a 550 m high and pointed nunatak on Livingston Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It rises 4.1 km east of Mount Bowles , 3.37 km northeast of Kuzman Knoll and 6.45 km north-northwest of Great Needle Peak on the eastern branch of Bowles Ridge . The Huron Glacier is south and east of it.
The Bulgarian Commission for Antarctic Geographical Names named it in 2002 after the Bulgarian-born American computer pioneer John Atanasoff (1903-1995).
