Athanasia Moraitou ( Greek Αθανασία Μωραΐτου ; * April 2, 1997 in Waiblingen ) is a German - Greek female soccer player .
Career
society
Moraitou started her career at the age of six in the Bambini team of FSV Waiblingen. She went through the youth teams from G-Jugend to C-Jugend , before moving to the B-Jugend of VfL Sindelfingen in summer 2011. On June 20, 2013, after the withdrawal of SC 07 Bad Neuenahr , she moved up to the Sindelfingen Bundesliga squad.
On September 20, 2013 Moraitou made her Bundesliga debut for VfL Sindelfingen in the home game against BV Cloppenburg . At the beginning of July 2017 she moved to BV Cloppenburg . After the first half of the season with BV Cloppenburg in 2018, Moraitou switched back to her old club VFL Sindelfingen for the second half of the season. She has been playing soccer in America for the University of South Alabama since August 2019.
National team
Moraitou has been with Greece's U-16 national team since December 2012, where she made her international debut against the Welsh U-17 women's national soccer team on August 5, 2013. Before that, she completed two international matches for the German U-16 national soccer team and scored one goal. On June 5, 2014, Moraitou was nominated for the first time for the senior team of the Greek women's national football team.
