Athanasios Tsourakis ( Greek Αθανάσιος Τσουράκης ; *  May 12, 1990 in Alexandroupoli ) is a Greek football player . The midfielder has spent most of his career in Germany .

Career

In his youth, Tsourakis played for TSV Weilheim, VfB Stuttgart and MSV Duisburg . From 2009 to 2011 he was active for the second team of MSV Duisburg. At the beginning of the 2011/12 season he played for two months in the Oberliga Nordost for SC Borea Dresden . Then he moved to TuRU Düsseldorf in the Lower Rhine League . In summer 2012 he returned to MSV Duisburg II. From summer 2013 Tsourakis was on the professional team of MSV. After his contract in Duisburg was not extended, he moved to AO Platanias in Greece. For the first division club, he made 37 Super League games in two years .

Due to the pregnancy of his girlfriend who lives in Duisburg, Tsourakis returned to Germany during the winter break of 2016/17 and joined the ETB Schwarz-Weiß Essen . This was at the time in the relegation battle in the fifth-class Oberliga Niederrhein and was able to end the season 16/17 with relegation. After three more league seasons as a regular at Schwarz-Weiß Essen, Athanasios Tsourakis moved to the regional division VfB Speldorf in mid-2020 .
