Atif Dudaković

Atif Dudaković (born December 2, 1953 in Orahova , Yugoslavia ) is a former lieutenant general of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina ( Armija RBiH ) and commander of the 5th Corps (Peti korpus) . Atif Dudaković is one of the most popular generals in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Life

Atif Dudakovic was born on December 2, 1953 in Orahova . Atif Dudaković began his military career in mid-1976 in the Yugoslav People's Army (JNA) . Until 1991 he served with the rank of major in an artillery school in Zadar , then at a military academy in Belgrade . At the beginning of the Balkan War he was on the side of the 9th Corps of the JNA and thus subordinated to General Ratko Mladić . He came to Bihac in April 1992 and joined the Bosnian army . In November 1993 he took over the leadership of the 5th corpus from Ramiz Drekovic . After the war he decided to get involved politically, first for the SDA and since 2010 for the SBiH of Haris Silajdžić .

Bosnian War

When war broke out in Bosnia, he was in the Yugoslav People's Army. When the war reached Bosnia, he immediately fled to the side of the army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina . There he was given command of the 5th Corps Bihać from General Ramiz Dreković, who took over command of the 4th Corps in Mostar. In the further course of the war Bihać was surrounded on all sides and was next to Srebrenica also an ethnic enclave. With his former friend Ante Gotovina he achieved great military successes, such as a partial success in Operation Oluja , the breakthrough of the siege ring around the Bihać enclave and the capture of the cities of Bosanska Krupa , Bosanski Petrovac , Ključ and Sanski Most . He ended his military career as Commander in Chief of the Federation Forces (VFBIH) with the rank of Lieutenant General.
