Atmosphere is a hip hop band from Minneapolis , Minnesota that was formed around 1994.

history

Originally, the band consisted of MC Spawn, producer Ant (Anthony Davis) and rapper Slug (Sean Daley). After Spawn left the band to rap under the pseudonym Rek The Heavyweight, Slug and Ant continued the band with changing live DJs, including DJ Mr. Dibbs (Brad Forste). Atmosphere stand for an airy, sometimes very socially critical rap that fluctuates between melancholy, joie de vivre and everyday worries.

The band 's most successful album, Seven's Travels , was produced by Epitaph Records , which is actually a punk label.

In 2009, Atmosphere toured Germany with the support of live musicians Nate Collis (guitar), Erick Anderson (keys) and singer Mankwe Ndosi. The entire Rhymesayers label collective went on a major European tour in 2011. In addition to Atmosphere, Brother Ali, Evidence , Blueprint and Grieves & Budo took part.
