Atsushi Fujita

Atsushi Fujita ( Japanese 藤田 敦 史 , Fujita Atsushi ; born November 6, 1976 in Shirakawa ) is a former Japanese long-distance runner . He is ranked 4th in the all-time leaderboard of Japanese marathon runners .

At the 1999 World Athletics Championships marathon in Seville , he finished sixth. In 2000 he won the Fukuoka Marathon and set an Asian record with 2:06:51. At the 2001 World Athletics Championships marathon in Edmonton , he was twelfth.

In 2002 he won the Seoul International Marathon .

The 2007 season began for him with a win at the Beppu-Ōita marathon in 2:10:23.

Atsushi Fujita is 1.66 m tall and weighs 53 kg.
