Atsushi Katagiri ( Japanese 片 桐 淳 至 Katagiri Atsushi ; born August 1, 1983 in Gifu Prefecture ) is a former Japanese football player .

Career

Katagiri learned to play soccer on the school team at Gifu Technical High School . He signed his first contract with the Nagoya Grampus Eight in 2002 . The club played in the highest league in the country, the J1 League . For the club, he completed five first division games. In 2004 he was loaned to Rosario Central and Quilmes AC . In 2005 he returned to Nagoya Grampus Eight . He then played for FC Horikoshi and FC Gifu . In 2009 he moved to the second division Ventforet Kofu . In 2010 he was runner-up with the club in the J2 League and was promoted to the J1 League. At the end of the 2011 season, the club was relegated to the J2 League. Then he played for the MIO Biwako Shiga . At the end of 2013, he ended his career as a football player.
