Atukwei Okai

Atukwei Okai (born March 15, 1941 in Accra , Ghana ; † July 13, 2018 there ) was a Ghanaian writer and university lecturer .

Education and career

Okai studied at the Maxim Gorky Literature Institute in Moscow and graduated with a master's degree in literature in 1967. He later studied at the University of London .

After his return to Ghana, Okai began his work as a lecturer in Russian literature at the University of Ghana in Legon, a district of Accra . He became a member of the faculty of the Institute for African Studies at the University of Ghana. The Association Pan-African writers ( Pan-African Writers' Association ), he also joined.

Okai's works as a writer are located in the field of children's and youth literature.
