Aušrinė Stundytė

Aušrinė Stundytė (* 1976 in Vilnius ) is a Lithuanian singer ( soprano ).

Life

From 1994 to 2000 Aušrinė Stundytė studied singing at the Music and Theater Academy of Lithuania with Irena Milkevičiūtė , as well as social work at the Philosophy Faculty of the University of Vilnius and from 2000 as a DAAD scholarship holder at the University of Music and Theater in Leipzig with Helga Forner . Stundytė sang in the ensemble of the Cologne Opera , including Nedda in Pagliacci , Mimi in La Bohème , Agathe in Der Freischütz and Cho-Cho-San in Madama Butterfly . In 2014 she played Katerina in Shostakovich's Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk in a performance at the Antwerp Opera.

In 2008, Aušrinė Stundytė received a scholarship from the Richard Wagner Association in Cologne and has been awarded several prizes.

At the Salzburg Festival 2020 she sings Elektra in the opera of the same name by Richard Strauss .

Stundytė is married to a Greek singer and lives in Cologne .
