Aubrey Singer

Aubrey Singer (born January 21, 1927 in Bradford in Yorkshire , † May 26, 2007 in London ) was a British television producer.

Life

Singer left school at the age of 17 to do an apprenticeship as a film editor. He also spent several years producing films in Africa and later in Austria. He joined the BBC in 1949, was in New York from 1953-56, and produced some science series in the late 1950s that led to the creation of the BBC Science and Features , such as Tomorrow's World and Horizon . From 1974 to 1978 he headed the BBC Two , where in June 1967 the live program Our World was broadcast. In 2006, the TV comedy The Buck Calder Experience was shot based on his concept .
