Auchorachan , also Aucherachan or Glenlivat, was a whiskey distillery near Ballindalloch , Moray , Scotland . It is not to be confused with a distillery of the same name that existed in Banffshire between 1825 and 1850 .
Little is known about the distillery . It was founded on the Auchorachan homestead before 1790 and, along with Strathisla, is one of the oldest distilleries in the important Speyside whiskey region . It was adjacent to the Tamnavulin distillery, which had been closed since 1995 . In 1852 it was closed. Little information about their history has survived. The buildings have been partially preserved and are now partially used for agriculture.
