Auchtertool is a Scottish town in the southwest of the Council Area Fife . It is located approximately six kilometers west of Kirkcaldy and 17 km east-northeast of Dunfermline .
Between 1845 and 1927 there was a whiskey distillery called Auchtertool in the village .
