biography

Messerer was born in Treuchtlingen in 1943 in what is now the Middle Franconian district of Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen . He attended primary school in Treuchtlingen and grammar school in Weißenburg , where he graduated from high school in 1962. He studied chemistry / biology in Erlangen for teaching at grammar schools and passed his first state examination in 1967. After completing his preparatory service at the Dientzenhofer grammar school in Bamberg , he passed the second state examination in 1969 and was then a teacher at the Werner von Siemens grammar school in Weißenburg and senior teacher.

Messerer sat in the Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen district assembly , where he was parliamentary group chairman for a number of years, as well as on the city council in Weißenburg. On November 16, 1978, he replaced the late Kurt Adelmann in the Bavarian State Parliament, to which he was a member until 1986. He was also a substitute for Günter Hefele , who, however, died shortly before the end of the 1990 electoral term, so Messerer did not attend any more meetings.
