Auerbacher Landsmannschafts-Senioren-Convent

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Auerbacher Landsmannschaften-Seniors-Convent (Auerbacher LSC) was a corporation association of obligatory and color-bearing student associations at technical universities in the period from 1895 to 1899 and is regarded as a predecessor of the Coburg Convent of the Landsmannschaften and gymnastics associations .

The association, also known as Auerbacher LSC , was founded by Saxonia Stuttgart , Ghibellinia Stuttgart and Rhenania Karlsruhe on March 3, 1895. This should expressly be the continuation of the Wetzlarer Allgemeine Landsmannschafts-Senioren-Convent .

The first presiding party was Ghibellinia and the Stuttgart Landsmannschaften set up statutes for the new association based on the old Wetzlar ALSC statutes, which were discussed and approved on July 11, 1895. The association should meet every year at Whitsun in Auerbach .

But this association also had a short life. After Obotritia had transferred to the WSC in the winter semester of 1897/98 and moved to Darmstadt and Ghibellinia had become a fraternity in 1898, Hasso-Borussia withdrew their application for admission in 1899. Rhenania and Starkenburgia had to adjourn shortly afterwards due to internal difficulties.

The country teams have suffered from weak activity since the association began . Of the six country teams that had belonged to the association, Hasso-Borussia and Saxonia are still represented with Aktivitas in the Coburg Convent, Ghibellinia has existed as a fraternity since 1900, Obotritia exists as a corps in Darmstadt, Rhenania was absorbed into the WSC-Corps Chattia in 1908, Starkenburgia has gone out.
