On paths of God's love is the German translation of a of Abdul-Baha in 1886 in Persian written script in which the history of Babism and Bahai - Religion is described from 1844 to 1879.

background

The British orientalist Edward Granville Browne received the manuscript from Abdul-Baha during his visit from Baha'u'llah to Acre in April 1890. Browne translated the manuscript into Englishand in 1891 had the original facsimile as Volume I and the translation printed as Volume II. The volumes were published anonymously because Browne did not know who the author was. It was only later that Browne learned of Abdul-Baha's authorship. This English translation with the title "A Traveller's Narrative written to illustrate the Episode of the Báb" is the template for the German translation. A second edition in one volume appeared in 1975 and in 1980 the third edition of the English text appeared. Both works and the German translation name the author.

content

This writing describes the life of the Bab until his martyrdom. It also describes the followers of Bab such as Qurrat al-ʿAin and other letters of the living . The life of Subh-i-Azal is characterized until his exile in Famagusta in Cyprus . Baha'u'llah is reported not only from his stay in Persia , but also from his stays in Baghdad , Sulaimaniyya , Istanbul , Edirne and Acre . The Baha'i Revelation is characterized by quoting from the writings of Baha'u'llah. The quotations are not found in the English text of Browne; they were reproduced in the German translation, as far as they are recognizable, based on existing text editions ( e.g. Ährenlese , Messages from Akka , Hidden Words ), which sometimes differ somewhat from Browne's translations. Large parts of Baha'u'llah's letter to Naser ad-Din Shah are also quoted and the martyrdom of his messenger Mirza Badi 'is presented. Finally, the accompanying circumstances and the persons responsible for the martyrdom of Mirza Muhammad-Hasan and his brother Mirza Muhammad-Husayn in March 1879 in Isfahan are described.
