On plaster
Surface-mounted is the designation for visible installations that are neither laid in the plaster nor under the plaster . Installations that run under a cladding are usually not referred to as surface-mounted installations.
The term is sometimes used synonymously with pre- wall installation , which is common in sanitary installations .
The following alternatives to surface installation are common:
- Flush-mounted installation ,
- Cavity installation in which the installations are covered by a cladding,
- free-standing installations, see also overhead lines ,
- Wall- mounted installation on consoles , beams, (cable) troughs and the like .
With surface installation, cables, lines or pipes are laid directly or with spacer clips over the plaster on the wall. Mailboxes, billboards and the like can either be embedded in the plaster or surface- mounted.
Surface-mounted installations are used in supply technology . In residential buildings especially for heating , gas , electrical and water installations in basements and utility rooms . In commercial properties, installations are predominantly made as surface-mounted installations. All possible installations of the supply technology can be used here.
