Augsburg (also known as Augsbury ) is a small unincorporated community in Pope County , Arkansas , USA .
In 1883 the first German-speaking Lutheran families settled in Pope County, 15 miles northwest of Russellville .
The name of the place refers to the German city of Augsburg . In 1884 they built their first church, the Zion Lutheran Church . The church burned down in 1907 and 1978, and was rebuilt between 1979 and 1980.
