August Bruse

August Bruse (* 26. October 1903 in Attendorn ; † 27. August 1984 in Lennestadt ) was a German politician of the SPD .

Life and work

Bruse, who was a Roman Catholic , completed an apprenticeship as a locksmith and welder after graduating from primary school in 1917. He then worked at Hüttenwerke Siegerland AG , where he was promoted to foreman in the Attendorn plant in 1931.

Political party

Bruse participated in the re-establishment of the SPD in 1945 and became its local chairman in Attendorn in 1948.

MP

Since 1947 Bruse belonged to the council of Attendorn, in 1950 he was also elected to the district council of the Olpe district.

Bruse was a member of the German Bundestag from 1953 to 1961 and from July 16, 1962, when he replaced the late Julius Brecht , until 1965.

Public offices

Bruse was elected mayor of Attendorn in 1950 and deputy district administrator of the Olpe district in 1952.
