August George-Mayer
August George-Mayer (actually August Georg Mayer ; born March 28, 1834 in Vienna , † February 8, 1889 ibid) was an Austrian painter.
From 1847 to 1851 he studied at the Vienna Academy with Karl Gsellhofer , Johann Ender , Leopold Kupelwieser , Joseph Führich and Carl Rahl . At first he mainly created genre and history pictures, but later mainly portraits . From 1860 to 1863 he lived as a theater painter in Hungary and married the daughter of the playwright Adolf Foglár in Vienna in 1867 .
