Adolf Foglár

Adolf Foglár (born March 7, 1822 in Vienna ; † July 27, 1900 in Iglau , Moravia ) was an Austrian lawyer and writer. Sometimes he used the pseudonym Robert Schild .

Life

Foglár was the son of an Austro-Hungarian court official and the younger brother of the poet Ludwig Foglár .

After graduating from high school, Foglár enrolled in law at the University of Vienna . After successfully completing his studies, he volunteered for the military. At the age of 26 he joined the 3rd Styrian Rifle Battalion for two years in 1848. In 1850 he switched to the imperial army because of his career. In 1854 he succeeded as a first lieutenant and entered the judicial service.

Here he started as council secretary at the county court in Trenčín . When the political situation changed, Foglár was put up for disposition in 1860. But just a year later, in 1861, he was appointed regional judge in Korneuburg . As such, he was transferred to Steyr in 1863 . In 1887 he retired at the age of 65.

He was able to enjoy his retirement in Iglau for around 13 years. Adolf Foglár died here on July 27, 1900 at the age of 78.
