August Hagen (theologian)

August Hagen (born February 10, 1889 in Spaichingen ; † January 27, 1963 there ) was a German Catholic theologian and clergyman .

Life

After being ordained a priest on July 22, 1914, he was a chaplain in Esslingen . After graduating as Dr. sc. pol. 1925 and 1928 Dr. theol. He completed his habilitation in 1930 at the University of Tübingen ( license to teach Catholic canon law). From 1935 to 1947 he taught at the canonical law chair of the Catholic Faculty of the University of Würzburg . From 1948 to 1960 he was vicar general of the Rottenburg diocese.
