August Hartmann (politician)

August Hartmann (born August 5, 1931 in Breuna , † April 23, 2008 in Kassel ) was a German local politician ( SPD ). From 1960 to 1989 mayor of the community of Breuna and from 1972 to 1978 chairman of the district council of Wolfhagen.

Personal / professional

His action against the plans to build a reprocessing plant for spent nuclear fuel rods near Volkmarsen and the construction of the central school in Breuna are among the official acts as mayor worth mentioning. Hartmann is also considered a promoter of tourist activities in the municipality of Breuna.

Honors

In 1990 August Hartmann was honored with the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon.
