August Metzinger

August Metzinger (born January 31, 1882 in Mittelbexbach ; † June 20, 1939 in Essen ) was a German politician ( center ).

Life

Metzinger attended elementary school from 1888 to 1895 and Sunday school from 1895 to 1898. He then went through several semesters of academic courses in Essen and attended a course at the Volksverein for Catholic Germany . He was employed as a miner on the Saar mine from 1898 to 1903 and disciplined after the Reichstag election in 1903. From 1903 to 1909 he worked as a secretary for the union of Christian miners in Essen . From 1909 he worked as managing director of various consumer associations , including managing director of the " Gepag " soap factory. In addition, he was an executive member of the board of the Wohlfahrt consumer association.

Metzinger joined the Center Party, for which he was a member of the Prussian state parliament from 1921 to 1933 .
