August Röchling

Karl August Röchling (born August 12, 1856 in Ludwigshafen am Rhein , † 1937 in Aachen ) was a German entrepreneur .

Life

August Röchling, son of the businessman Ernst Röchling (1825–1877), joined the Röchling Brothers company in Glasgow after attending grammar school at the Jesuit Church and the Technical University in Karlsruhe , where he completed a commercial apprenticeship and was then temporarily in Paris and in 1884 became authorized signatory of the Röchling Brothers in Ludwigshafen (banking and wholesale trade for iron and coal). In 1892, together with his brother Heinrich Röchling, he became a partner in the company, which he eventually managed as a managing partner .

Röchling was also a member of the supervisory board of Edelstahlwerke Röchling AG (Völklingen) and Röchling'schen Eisen- und Stahlwerke (Völklingen).

In Mannheim he married Cäcilie Helene born in 1885. Lanz. The couple had two sons and a daughter.
