August Robert Seraphim

August Robert Seraphim (born December 20, 1863 in Mitau , † February 20, 1924 in Königsberg ) was a German-Baltic historian .

Life

August Robert Seraphim was a son of the Courland lawyer Ferdinand Seraphim (1827-1894) and Helene Tiling († 1870). The historian Ernst Seraphim (1862–1945) was his brother.

Seraphim married Sophie Tiling in Riga in 1900 and was the grandfather of the historian Heinrich August Winkler .

From 1912 to 1924 Seraphim was the director of the city library and the city archive in Königsberg. Seraphim also worked for a long time at the Collegium Fridericianum , most recently as professor of the history of Eastern Europe and Old Prussia . He published a number of works on German-Baltic history.
