Georg August Sonnenschein (born November 14, 1875 in Kerstenhausen , † June 12, 1951 in Marburg ) was a German politician ( DNVP ).

Life

August Sonnenschein worked as a bookseller in Marburg. In the 1930s he was a church elder in his Protestant parish in Marburg.

After 1918, Sonnenschein joined the German National People's Party (DNVP) and was chairman of the DNVP Marburg. In 1923 he moved up as a member of the Prussian state parliament, to which he was a member until 1928. From 1932 to 1933 he was a member of the Kassel Communal Parliament and the Provincial Parliament of the Hesse-Nassau Province , initially for the Hessian Working Group, then from 1933 for the Black-White-Red Battle Front .

At the end of May 1934 he took part in the Barmen Confessing Synod, at which the Barmen Theological Declaration was adopted.
