August spit
August Christian Friedrich Spieß (born March 8, 1815 in Okriftel , † June 26, 1893 in Wiesbaden ) was a German homeland researcher. He is the author of a number of publications on the national history of the Duchy of Nassau .
Spieß was born the son of a pastor. He attended grammar school Philippinum in Weilburg , which he graduated from high school in 1834. He then studied philology at the University of Göttingen .
From 1862 to 1886 he worked as a teacher at the grammar school in Dillenburg . From 1887 to 1890 he was director of the association for Nassau antiquity and historical research .
