August Zeddies

August Zeddies (born July 8, 1897 in Springe am Deister , † February 10, 1957 in Hanover ) was a German author.

Life

At the age of twelve, August Zeddies and his family moved to Hanover. His learned trade was a druggist. In 1916 he was called up and was handicapped by two wounds.

The chemist from the Leinetal worked as a writer for decades. He processed his observations about the flora and fauna of fields, forests and meadows and their inhabitants in animal novels , but also in novels, books for children and young people and many other, mostly unpublished works. He wrote a lot of local and homeland things, then in the feature pages , wrote fairy tale books and numerous heathen poems, created many short stories, also wrote in Low German. August Zeddies designed, among other things, two large farmer's novels and two radio plays. A total of ten of his books were published.

Zeddies gave around 50 lectures between 1934 and 1944, for example in Hanover, Breslau, Vienna, Königsberg, Saarbrücken.
