Augusta Luise is a hybrid tea rose from the breeder Mathias Tantau jun. , to which she dedicated the Uetersen conventual Augusta Louise zu Stolberg-Stolberg in 1999 for the 250th birthday of Goethe . She lived in the Uetersen monastery and went down in literary history as Goethe's Gustchen. Mathias Tantau jun. she bred the 'Foxtrot' and 'Rachel' varieties.
It is an abundantly blooming hybrid tea rose with an upright habit. Under good conditions it can reach a height of 70 to 100 cm. The flower color ranges from champagne-pink to peach-colored. The up to 12 cm large, strongly fruity scented flowers with up to 40 petals are well filled. The rose leaves are mostly dark green.
'Augusta Luise' is frost hardy to −17 ° C ( USDA zone 6 ). It is a rainproof and heat-tolerant variety and is suitable as a cut rose. It blooms from June to September and is also suitable as a floribunda rose .
