Augustas Strazdas (born February 20, 1980 in Panevėžys , Lithuanian SSR , USSR ) is a Lithuanian handball player .

Career

The 1.89 meter tall Augustas Strazdas began his professional career in 2002 in Iceland with HK Kópavogur, where he played with a break of one year until 2006 and won the Icelandic Cup once. In 2006 Augustas Strazdas moved to Toledo BM until 2011. After he was promoted to the first Spanish league with the Toledo BM in 2011, he moved to Austria for SG Handball West Vienna in the summer of 2011. In 2014 he was named “Legionnaire of the Year” for the 2013/14 season by the Handball League Austria . After the 2015/16 season, his contract with SG Handball West Vienna was not renewed. From the 2016/17 season he will play in the Handball Bundesliga Austria for Union St. Pölten . After the financial situation at Union St. Pölten worsened in 2017, the backcourt player switched to league competitor Vöslauer HC before the start of the play-offs.
