Auguste Zurfluh

Auguste Zurfluh (born June 13, 1871 as August Zurflüh in Switzerland , † June 15, 1941 in Paris ) was a French guitarist , harpist , composer and music publisher .

Life

Zurfluh studied guitar with Miguel Llobet in Paris. His friends included Francisco Tárrega , David del Castillo , José Ferrer and Alfred Cottin . He worked as a guitarist at the Paris Opéra-Comique . Lucien Gélas and Carl Henze from Berlin were among his students .

Editions Auguste Zurfluh

In 1909 he founded his own publishing house, the Éditions Auguste Zurfluh , in Paris. There he published over 130 salon pieces for guitar, mandolin and voice as well as a guitar school in French ( Méthode théorique et pratique contenant des études et exercices ), German and English. The revised version was published by Constantin Schwarz . After his death, some of his works were published by the music publishers of Paul Beuscher and Henry Lemoine .
