Augustin Hilty

Augustin "Gust" Hilty (born October 13, 1896 in Schaan ; † July 16, 1955 there ) was a Liechtenstein master painter and marksman .

Life

Augustin Hilty was born in 1896 to Augustin Hilty and his wife Domenika (née Jenal). Hilty was a citizen of the community of Schaan and worked as a painter. He also opened a car paint shop in the 1920s. In addition to his work as a painter, Hilty was also active as an artist and graphic designer and, as such, made a name for himself in Liechtenstein.

Hilty had been an active marksman since his youth, he was a member of the Schaaner small-bore sport shooting club and was repeatedly a Liechtenstein marksman master. In 1936 he was a member of the Liechtenstein team at the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin and achieved 44th place in the small-bore, 50 m competition with 288 points.

In 1919 he married Eugenie Kaufmann. The marriage produced three sons.
