Augustin Ngirabatware

Augustin Ngirabatware (born January 12, 1957 in Gisenyi ) is a former Rwandan politician . For his role during the Rwandan genocide , he was sentenced in December 2012 to 35 years in prison by the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda for genocide, incitement to genocide and rape as crimes against humanity.

Ngirabatware was planning minister in the Kambanda cabinet during the genocide and organized various meetings on April 7, 1994 at which the genocide was planned. He was wanted by the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) for his role during the Rwandan genocide and was finally caught on September 17, 2007 in Frankfurt am Main . On December 20, 2012, the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda sentenced him to 35 years in prison for genocide, incitement to genocide and rape as crimes against humanity.
